Lebedev vs Mormeck Would Take Place at Cruiserweight

By Roman Grishin

According to boxing promoter/manager Vladimir Hryunov, a potential fight between WBA interim-cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (24-1, 18KOs), and former champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22KOs), would indeed take place at the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds. Hryunov, who manages Lebedev's career, received an offer to face Mormeck in France in the first week of June. However, Mormeck has not been a cruiserweight since 2007 and usually weighs between 215 to 216-pounds for his heavyweight outings.Last month, Mormeck was dominated and knocked out in four rounds by WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. Lebedev returned on Wednesday in Moscow and knocked out Shawn Cox in two rounds.Roman Grishin covers boxing for Sportbox.ru Tags: Denis Lebedev , Jean-Marc Mormeck , Lebedev-Mormeck , Lebedev vs Mormeck
