Dream domestic dust-ups for next season – the cruiserweights

With the new boxing season almost upon us, Boxrec News' James Bairstow previews his dream domestic fights that he'd most like to see in Britain's dormant cruiserweight division.
Ola Afolabi vs Herbie Hide
Ex two-time world heavyweight king Herbie Hide is now free to resume his boxing career (after he was recently cleared of a rape charge), and I can't think of a better way of him getting right back into the world title mix than by fighting WBO Inter-Continental champion Ola Afolabi.Afolabi would have to take care of Lukasz Janik in September and Hide would probably want a tune-up fight first, but there is nothing stopping these two foreign-based Brits coming to blows before the end of the year.
Prediction: Old Father Time catches up with Hide as Afolabi wins by KO.
Jon Lewis Dickinson vs Matty Askin
These two will simply have to fight at some stage.Prizefighter champion Dickinson was impressive last time out when he outpointed David Dolan, to claim the vacant Northern Area strap, and he would probably be a slight favourite with the bookies, but the ever-improving Matty Askin has an impressive victory over Neil Dawson on his slate, and he should not be underestimated.
Prediction: flick a coin.
Stay tuned for part 3: the light-heavyweights.
