WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Amir Khan has apologized over a comment the boxer posted on his personal Twitter page on Thursday.Robert Guerrero suffered a left shoulder injury and withdrew from his upcoming fight with Marcos Maidana, scheduled for August 27th.After Khan became aware of the news, he made a claim on his Twitter page that Guerrero's injury was non-existent and Maidana paid him “step aside money” to become the WBA's regular champion at 140-pounds. Khan is the WBA's super champion at 140. While Khan apologized to Guerrero, he continued to exchange verbal jabs with Maidana. I was messing around about the injury of Guerrero. Apologies for the tweet. I'm sure he didn't get paid step aside money. Someone said it was an arm injury in sparring [that] Guerrero suffered. Well let's hope he recovers. I bet Maidana is happy for not wantingto get beat up,” Khan said.Tags: Amir Khan , Marcos Maidana , Robert Guerrero , Guerrero-Maidana , Guerrero vs Maidana
